Uncut Angling on Hardwater Smallmouth

Manitoba's Northern Region is an optimum choice for ice anglers seeking an abundance of trophy northern pike, lake trout or walleye waters. Add a healthy variety of select stocked trout fisheries, and you have a multi-species ice fishing destination that would permit very few comparisons. But it doesn't stop there. The north is full of unexpected gems and the smallmouth bass is no exception.

Bronzebacks may be far from a traditional ice fishing option, but for a species that inspires a countless number of open water hard cores... well, let’s just say it’s an exceptional alternative to the everyday ice fishing experience.

Ice fishing 101: It never hurts to try something new.
