It’s official, Lake Winnipeg has produced a giant 34 inch walleye that has been recognized by the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as one of three, ice fishing catch and release world records!
This amazing greenback walleye is a true testiment to the world class ice fishing destination that Lake Winnipeg has become. There are few places in this world that offer walleye in this class and none that showcase the greenback color phase that’s unique to Lake Winnipeg and its tributaries. These fish are sought after by thousands of hard water anglers each winter season with many successfully catching and releasing 30 inch plus specimans.
