National Park Northern Pike at Clear Lake
Manitoba is home to big northern pike. Literally every corner of the province has phenomenal northern pike fishing opportunities.
A popular drive-to destination is Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park. Straddling the border between the Parkland and Western Region is this scenic deep water lake. A healthy walleye and pike population including Master Angler sized specimens inhabit its crystal clear waters.
Special angling regulations are in place at all National Parks such as park-issued fishing licences and the forbidden use of lead tackle. This latter rule inspired Aaron Wiebe to fashion a makeshift pike spoon in the boat. Watch as he targets trophy northerns and can't keep them off of the shiny new lure's hooks.
